In this streetwise, offbeat comedy we are introduced to Ali
(Saïd Taghamaouil), a young Egyptian screenwriter stranded in
bustling London without money, a visa or even a place to live.
More than determined to make a success of himself in London, Ali
moves in with a succession of eccentric, colourful London roommates
including a flamboyant gay photographer (Rupert Graves),
an elderly blind woman (Anna Massey), who believes Ali is the
reincarnation of her long lost lover, and Linda (Juliette
Lewis), a young sexy model and Marilyn Monroe impersonator.
While Ali searches for a way to stay afloat in London, he also
seeks love and belonging. Ultimately, his disastrous trials and
tribulations lead him to an unexpected chance at true
happiness.
